Have a computer, don't have internet

Yeah, it still doesn't work. Since I have a paper due on Monday, I'd much rather have a computer without internet than nothing at all. I'm still borrowing other people's internet though. I am currently at Erin's room watching MASH and eating all of the food she can't have. moogie and I went around to the mall for dinner, the bookstore with 20% off half-priced books, and wallyworld for food. i'm much poorer, but I've got more food and books now. well, got some sleep or something done. Hope everyone is well.

Still Computerless - and watching way too much TV

In order to combat my computerlessness, I've been watching waaaayy too much TV. I haven't heard anything about it since I dropped it off on Tuesday. Hopefully it'll be working soon. I guess the guy at DoIT has had moments of the internet working because Alissa said hello to him on my messenger. She thought it was me.

I had my student supervisor interview an hour ago. I think it went well.....I don't have my heart set on it though, which is a good thing considering there are 15 other excellent people applying for 3 spots. Would be nice, but either way it goes I'm happy that I tried. Will know next Friday.

Other than that, I've just been working, going to class, working, studying and doing homework, and sleeping. It's been a LONG week. I can't wait until Saturday, because right now I've got nothing planned ... a day off. :-)

the good, the bad, and the depressing

the good - found my notebook I left in the library

the bad - my feet hurt from walking all over campus the last few days.

the depressing- my computer is STILL broken. This morning I walked down to the tech store and after the guy there did everything I'd already done, he sent it to the higher-ups for fixing. I got the call at 4:35 that it was fixed and ready to be picked up. Ran down before they closed at 5PM. Brought back to Liz and hooked it up. It DOES NOT work. Am told that the wireless may still work (it hadn't been before). Instead of swimming (and I was looking forward to it too) I instead head back to Helen C. White library to see if the wireless works (one's better than none). It does work....for about 6 minutes. Then it too refuses to work. I am now in the computer lab at the library, and about to head home and cry. I've got to get a disk that I can't find or will end up spending $80 on to try and fix it again. Grrr....what is a girl to do?? Fixing this computer may mean my getting a second job the way things are going now!

Offline for now

Sorry guys, but it looks like I'll be offline longer than expected. I took the lappytoppy to DoIT (the tech place on campus), where the guy tried everything I've already done. He sent it to the higher ups to see what they can do, so it's going to take 2-3 days before I get it back, and of course there are no guarentees that it'll work when I get it back. I am so sad not to have it....the desk is a lot more spacious without it. Hopefully all will work out and that it's not a hardware problem. If it's a hardware problem it will cost me $60ish an hour.

Hoping everyone else is well and without computer troubles,
Christi
