How many times do I get to use the word "blustry"? Not many, but it is the perfect word for today's weather. Lots of snow, lots of wind, lots of cold. I'm so glad that I don't have to go out into it, not even for cafeteria food! Mom's going to come up tomorrow for a short shopping trip. Unfortunantly my books took up my shopping money for the week (I'm going to return them as soon as Erin's books - same class - come down with her parents). Oh well, I've found that I've got more than enough to feed an army. Hopefully my VHS scholarship $$ shows up this week, 'cause housing is due on Friday. There are days when I wish I lived in a world that didn't use money. Everything was free, 'cause everyone worked hard to provide for everyone else. And we were able to travel to distant planets, meet aliens, and save Earth from the Borg...........wait, that's Star Trek. Never mind.
Anywho, today's a lazy day. Gonna practice the guitar. Oh, I didn't tell you, but I'm borrowing Erin's guitar and "Guitars for Dummies" book and am teaching myself how to play. It's really hard, 'cause I don't have callouses on my fingertips yet, so the strings make a buzzing sound. I already know three chords and how to tune the thing. Don't know if I'll ever be proficent at it (kinda like me and the piano) but at least I'm trying (and it's the perfect thing to do on a snowy day). I'll probably will brush up on some Spanish too.
Well, hope everyone else is having a great snow day (or rainy day UK or getting some sleep NZ). If we ever had a chat, we should do it at 6PM CST, which would be 6AM NZ time and 12AM UK time (I think). Just an idea.

P.S. Dan called me last night! Totally made my whole week. He's in Mock Trial (the case has to do with liability and a bar fight) . He's in AP Calculus, works at McD's, and in Drama, so he hasn't much time for anything. YAY - I GOT TO TALK TO DAN!!! :D

Back to Class
Classes started yesterday. I had Spanish and History as well as band. Spanish was alright, already sounds like less homework. History I have a couple of friends in, but until Erin's parents come down with the books, I'll have to spend some time at the library in order to get the reading done. And band is band ... hard pieces, but lots of fun. Today after work (5:30AM-1PM) I have animal science - a course on companion animals like dogs and cats (Daisy and Buddy!). Then I have choir (I've missed singing, since I didn't get to do it last semester). Then I have a Relay for Life meeting - I've only been to a couple since they are generally on Tuesdays and I have band (I haven't even gone to the businesses - I don't know where most of them are!). I have to start putting a team together and getting a sponser. I'll probably miss my favorite tv show tonight :( Grrr......
Well, I've almost done everything I've needed to this morning. Since I only got about 5 hours of sleep, I think I'll take a nap before heading out. I probably won't fall asleep since the pipes are pounding again - sounds like a hammer that never stops!

My fingers hurt
I'm trying to teach myself how to play guitar. I'm using a "Guitar for Dummies" book and Erin's guitar she got just before christmas. I'm only working on two chords, but since my fingers aren't used to pressing that hard or in that fashion (I'm a flute player, for cryin' out loud!), my fingers hurt only after about 15 mintues. I'll probably will start on it again soon, but until then I'll do a shout out to you guys and get my books organized for Tuesday. AHHHHH!!!! Classes start on Tuesday!
Yesterday Moogie came to Madison. She brought me my beloved Oscar, who is extremely happy to be at home (he's back to his regular color and plays with the mirror again). Unfortunantly he's had to deal with a lot of temperature changes since I can't seem to keep this room anywhere near constant. Also back in my room are cold food, my pink fuzzy carpet from linda (yay - I love it!), the newest family calendar, and my laundry hamper. Well, must get going - only two days of no school left for me!!
