An upside-down world

We are still reeling from Mike's loss. Every moment of every day I still hurt inside. To me he'll always be here.

Mike's wake will be tomorrow (5/15) at the Camacho Funeral Home in Darlington from 3-8. My aunt Sharon from New Zealand will arrive in Wisconsin a little after three, so she'll be here for almost everything. It'll be really nice to have her here....to have almost all of the family together.

The funeral will be Sunday at 1:30 at the Willow Springs church. There will be three ministers, because Mike went to a couple of different churches and worked a lot for a couple too. Then he'll be buried near my grandmother at the Holy Rosary Cemetary in Darlington. Even though Mike's not Catholic, Grandpa pulled some strings so he could be near home. After that there will be food...somewhere. And then, I don't know. Matt, my cousin Alex, and Darlington friend Tom C. are pallbearers. All I can do is cry...and concentrate on finishing this test this morning. I didn't take yesterday's...I may just get an incomplete and finish the test next fall if I can't do it soon. I know that if I don't finish it, I'll get an F in a class that I'm doing really well in. Some how, tests don't seem that important anymore. Nor to grades, or jobs, or any of that crap....we can't take it with us anyway.

My Dearest Cousin, Mike

I will not be online for a few days. And it's not because I have finals. It's about Mike.

Mike was the sweetest guy in the world. He came over to Liz last month just so he could look at my computer and try to fix it. He spent a few hours working on it, and made it somewhat internet accessable. He was supposed to come up on Saturday to move my bed to Merit House...out of the kindness of his heart and some gas money. I just talked to him yesterday morning about it. He was looking forward to it. As was I.

But this morning. This morning brought me the worst news in the world. I knew it by Moogie's voice and she came to Madison personally. I had hoped for so many good things, like she met Viggo Mortenson and was running off to Las Vegas to get married. Oh, how I wish it had been! No, it was about Mike.

Last night, around 7:30, Mike was killed in a car accident. He'd driven the road a million times. But this one time, he never made it home. He was driving around one of the really sharp corners and lost control. His truck rolled...and crushed him. He was only 20 years old. His 21st birthday is July 25. We even have a birthday card ready for him.

Matt's numb. Moogie's in pain, but hiding it. And me?? I weep. In fact, I should probably post this so I quit crying over the keyboard.

I pray to God that it's not true. I can see him clearly in my mind, happy and picking on me, like he always did. Me and Sarah hiding his cell phone. Him and Matt trying to eat as many desserts as possible. Less than a month ago, this scene took place. And now it'll never happen again.

Study Break

In between moving out Jenny (her dad came this morning = no TV, her mom's coming this afternoon) working this morning (very very early) and studying, I have kept myself busy. Just thought I'd let everyone know I'm alive, well, and have a new address come Sunday. Please let me know if you would like to have it!!

Well, back to the Middle Ages. Maybe a little espanol tambien.

Ahhh!

When my room should be losing stuff, it actually seems to be gaining. It's true that I'm taking stuff out of drawers, which does add. Then of course there's Erin's Microwave and vaccum. BUT WHO KNEW I HAD THIS MUCH STUFF???? anywho, life's been pretty good other than that. I didn't get into the Commencement band, so I'll be working for catering instead, which gives me Saturday free and most of Sunday too. It's sad that no one will be around here to spend time with, 'cause everyone I know is moving out by Thursday. I won't even have a TV 'cause it's Jenny's.....what in the world am I going to do with myself???????

Maybe I'll get a hobby. Like kniting or crocheting....

And for those who don't get the joke, it really is funny. And sad. Very sad.

Hello all!

Happy Sunday! I've got my test in almost 45 mins. I can't even see straight, much less think straight. Grrrr.....who in their right mind is ready to take a final at this hour of the day?? I went to bed last night at 9:30 after I watched Pillow Talk with Doris Day and Rock Hudson (to relax me). I know its really old, but boy is it funny! I hope to go back to bed after this test, then finish my English paper and my mural upstairs. A busy busy day for me.
Yesterday I studied for my test today.

But Friday...Friday rocked!
I got up at 6:30AM to go to the DMV for my license. After I got the restrictions lifted and a horrible picture taken, I was off to Spanish class where we ate junk food and learned a couple of different dances. History was review for the final. I chilled with Erin over lunch and dragged her to my last Zoology lecture. Then we hit State Street, but she couldn't find what she was looking for. I, on the other hand, found a whole bunch of postcards that I am going to make a collage out of and put on my wall next semester. Then I went to English class, which lasted about 15 minutes because all we had to do was fill out an evaluation. Then I went to work (lots of fun) where I saw Moogie and had her open her presents (a cute little frame with family pictures in it, Aragorn action figure, pre-ordered LOTR DVD, and flowers which were sent to her at work). Then there was the work evaluation party, were we stayed outside cooking hotdogs for hours (since it had stopped raining). I then talked to Michelle in a stairwell for another hour (since quiet hours were in effect) and finally went to bed at 12:30AM .... the day after my birthday. I really did have a great day. Thank you so much to Mrs. Fortun, Alissa, my wonderful roommate Jenny, Matt (who talked to me on campus and in front of people!), Moogie, and all for their birthday greetings.

Well, off to my exam!
