Chillin' with the P-dogg

I'm sitting upstairs with Preston, taking a bit of break from the party still going strong downstairs. We haven't even hit State St. yet, although Jacinda from Viroqua says that the party's nuts...and she's at the calmer end at the captiol! I'm the only sober person here...most have had at least 5 drinks. Preston has a cd on to listen to, put on repeat until I'm ready for bed, which will be at least 2AM since I just finished another Mt. Dew. I don't know many downstairs, but that's ok. I'm too busy picking up beer bottles anyway.......for being a princess, I should stop being a caterer. Lol......guess I'm just too used to it. Michelle and Erin dropped by at the begining which was really nice because we got to talk before everyone started getting really loud. Shout out to Heidi's cousin Jeff, the Loompa Lumpa from Willy Wanka and the Chocolate Factory and his friend, a ringer for Johnny Depp's Edward Scissorhands....both have definately some of the best costumes I've seen ever. Can't buy stuff like that! Mike accidentally fell down the stairs, spilling WOP on both himself and me, who happened to be behind him. He's fine, and so is my dress, except both smell a little like alcohol now :) No worries, I'm still sober and intend to be for awhile. Well, must see if they are ready for State St yet.

Lots of love from Birthday Party Central! Lots of love, Christi, Oscar (upstairs for safety) and Preston (been very good boy!)

pink fingernails

To celebrate the weekend and the fact that I have 2 1/2 days off, I've painted my fingernails pink. Yeah, it's sad to be so excited, I know. State law doesn't allow nail polish at work and since I've been working so much I haven't had the opportunity for pink nails. However, with the festivities, I'm allowing myself a little luxury in unprofessionally painted pinkness.

The festivities have already started here. I ran into Matt McCulloh at the Nitty Gritty (bar/grill on the same block as our house)....I wish I could've talked to him longer, but we were just being moved to a different table and I was on the way inside. I haven't seen him since the Chancellor's Convocation our freshman year....hard to believe it's been that long since I've been out of high school!

Also at the Nitty tonight where three walking talking drinks, a guy dressed as a piece of gum under a shoe (he was in all mint green with a baby's shoe stuck to his green cap), several rather scandalous costumes, Ursula from "The Little Mermaid" (now I want to watch "The Little Mermaid"....) and the pope gave us his blessings on the way home. Molly's birthday dinner was fun, although with all of those rather loud and drunk people at the next table, it was hard to hear our own conversations. We heard theirs loud and clear though.

There are still people wandering down to State St. I don't even have to see them to know that they are there because I can hear them from almost 100 yards away. State Street is as bright as noontime with the stadium style lighting they've put up. They are trying to keep the damage down this year, or otherwise the city's going to cancel it. It's not even Madison people doing the rioting, breaking of store windows, fire barrels, or looting, but out-of-towners, some of who don't even know anyone here. But we'll get blamed and punished for other stupid people's behavior. #1 party school indeed, and about to live up to it's reputation.

All of the dorms are on lock-down. No one can go in but those that live there. No one can eat in the cafeterias but those that live there. You can't even use the bathroom! I was stopped at the outside steps of Barnard today where a housefellow made me wait for Michelle to come out to me. We had to talk outside of the building b/c of this Halloween madness....grrrr......I still bet I could get food at Ed's if I wanted because not only is it not connected to a dorm and therefore unlocked, I also know most of the supervisors and managers there. Hehehehe...I won' t do it though b/c I don't think I could handle the crowds. Poor Mateo, he HAS to be there......

Now everyone's gone out except for me since I've mountains of homework to do...it is seriously piled into mountains around my desk area :) I think I'll go to bed early tonight and sleep in tomorrow before hitting the books again. I've also got to move some of my stuff upstairs for tomorrow night...don't want anyone playing with my computer and drinking beer at the same time......I don't trust myself with only cereal in the mornings!

Lots of love, Christi and Oscar (I don 't think either of us will get much sleep due to the noise)

P.S. So many cop cars around. I think they've started bringing out the wagons to round up some of the more rebellious party-goers. I bet I'll be hearing that siren for a lot this weekend :(

11PM - LET'S JUST ALL PUT OUR DIRTY DISHES OUTSIDE BECAUSE WE ARE PISSED OFF AT OUR ROOMMATES...NOT LIKE THERE'S A TON OF DRUNK PEOPLE AROUND WHO COULD DO A LOT OF DAMAGE WITH CRAP LIKE THAT!!!!!!

quick post before dying..I mean studying

Getting Preston back into his kennel was a pain, taking almost a half an hour before we were tired enough that I could just stick him in there without much of a fight. Now I must study big-time before my discussion since my TA's really really picky about what you do and don't read....I guess gettting around to it isn't good enough for her. Oh well...

I am tired 'cause I went out with the girls to Perkins for some midnight fun.....for Heather...ACTION ... BOYFRIEND! Hahhaa....don't ask, because it doesn't make sense. I had a strawberry milkshake and some mac and cheese (not ez-mac..hooray!) while we played the question game where someone asks a question and everyone answers it. Really interesting and makes you think.

Lots to do for this weekend. Not sure what's up Friday night. Or Saturday day. Saturday night is Molly's b-day party and State St. Sunday is sleeping in and spending time with Moogie, Matt, and Carmen. Somewhere in there is studying and stuff.

Next week is another low-work week. I need to pick up some hours or I'm not going to be able to make my trip payments :( Still not for sure on the trip, but one girl (also applied) talked to some other former participants and they said most people do get accepted in Galway. Galway, Ireland that is.

Maybe I should explain better. I want to study abroad in the spring. First I applied to Southampton, England, but I didn't love the courses they offered, so I declined my spot. Then I applied to Galway, Ireland where I can take the courses I really want (I want to take a course on American History....weird, huh?). UW Madison says I can go ("accepted" here) on the condition that Galway accepts my application. All materials are sent in, passport now renewed, and I'm looking at loans. Just waiting on Galway. Hopefully I'll know soon so I can tell everyone soon. My boss is itching to know because he's hiring new people and he wants to know if my spot will be open so he can hire two instead of just one. Nice to know that my catering peoples love me, so much so that they want me to leave ..... :)

Other than that, the following pictures are from our romp through the pumpkin patch a few weeks ago. Hope you like them!!

Lots of love, Christi and Oscar (probably not as cold as my toes)

Stark Raving LOONEY

Mom's sick, so my one chance of getting off of campus today isn't going to happen :( I feel like I'm going to go crazy. I sick and tired of going into work...I've already been there enough, ya know? I want to go shopping, be near complete strangers but not have to serve them or pick up after them. Instead, my bananas have rotted waiting for the flour that I still need to buy. The windows have no plastic. And I have no time for anything.

Yesterday after work and Michelle's birthday (hooray, 21!), all of my roommates went out for dinner except me. I was too tired to move. I went to bed early and I slept in late (10:30PM-9AM). I only slept in late because Mom couldn't come. I have to be to work at noon for at least 4 hours of cleaning grills. Then I'm back at home to write a paper that I forgot about and it's due tomorrow. All I wanna do is have some fun. All I'm gonna do is work. Carmen got a few days off for fall break. Where is a fall break for us Badger students so we can catch up?

The game was good. We won. I saw the last few minutes. I served the Purdue fans lunch at Carson's. They were really nice to us. And I got out late from work again.

Grrr.....stupid brown bananas.

lots of love, Christi and Oscar (he's cold from sitting near the window)
