MONTPELIER, Vt. - A company that sells cuddly Teddy bears through the mail has angered mental health advocates with a special item for Valentine’s Day.

“This bear was created in the spirit of Valentine’s Day and as with all of our bears it was designed to be a lighthearted depiction of the sentiment of love,” the company said in a statement.
Mental health advocates believe the bear is “a tasteless use of marketing that stigmatizes persons with mental illness,” said Jerry Goessel, executive director of the Vermont chapter of the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill.
The company said it would discontinue the bear, but not before Feb. 14.
“We recognize that this is a sensitive, human issue and sincerely apologize if we have offended anyone,” the firm said. “This bear was developed just for Valentine’s Day and is not a permanent addition to our product line.”

At Home At Liz Waters
After 7 hours at work yesterday, I headed back to my temp housing, packed up my two rolling bags, and walked up the long, steep hill to Liz Waters....oops, just remembered that I have to go pick up my plants! I may not have my bedding, Christmas presents, or cold food, but I do have cable, internet, and a microwave! Mom hopes to come up any day now with the rest of my stuff, but the weather forecasts are just plain horrible for travel....I'm really starting to miss my Oscar! It's really cold in here (I even had to turn on the heat - I've never had to before!) probably because there are very few people here. I'm not sure when my roommate's coming back, or even where she's been. Hopefully not visiting the countries at the time of the tsunamis!!!! :(

Last day of vacation
Today is the last day that i will be free from work, the worries of moving, and the worries of trying to figure out what I want for dinner. Now I head back to Madison tomorrow, armed with a few bags worth of clothing and non-perishable food, to survive in the "jungle" of Madison until the rest of my things can arrive and I live at home in Liz Waters once again. This past weekend, I spent the 7th at work, then at Taffy and Heidi's birthday party. On the 8th I worked again, then headed to Alissa's place in Fennimore. Today I came back from Alissa's place in Fennimore and am packing for my return to Madison. Must go, since "Desperate Housewives" will soon be on. Matt's doing great! Got to see some of the Lake country and really liked it.
