I'm happy to report that I'm starting to go out more with friends. I really missed that last semester, the non-school human interaction. I feel like all of the grad students, especially those taking the exams, are in need of a little fun time with the rest of us. I hear all sorts of stories...some are good, some I never wanted to know about. Lol! Good times.
VERY VERY cold here in Wisconsin. Down to -50F wind chill in some areas. More like -30F here though. The lake keeps us a little warmer I think, but the wind from the lake that we get really bites and stings. I see that Madison and Milwaukee Public Schools have shut down for the second day in a row. I was excited for 1/2 a second because I saw Marquette on the school closings list, but then saw "high school" right after it :( All universities are still open for business, so I will have to make my way into campus this morning. Oh well, I do have to go the mansion this morning too. Again, thank you Mom for the ski mask!
Well, so much to do and so little time...like usual. Hugs! Christi and Lily the cat

Wednesday
I now own three bookshelves, thanks to my semesterly additions of a full shelf of history books. Here's Lily chilling on one!
Hello!
I've started to see more and more people that I recognize on campus. This is good, because it lifts my spirits to say hello to someone. I'm no longer a loner, yay!
Big ol' thanks to Mom for the ski-mask Christmas present. I may look creepy and questionable, but my face was nice and toasty on my walk to class this morning. Too bad I kept slipping and sliding and therefore late to class. Oh well. Stayed at the library between classes catching up on e-mails and such before my second class at 4PM. Then I headed home to watch a movie, which I feel I must dissect for my own good. I am still not sure if I liked it or not.
Movie Review: "The Mummy 3: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor"...or something like that. Basically, I just watched Brenden Frasier kick mummy bum. Story was alright, but not the best. At least I couldn't guess the ending until the actual end, so already better than "Eagle Eye". However, "Mummy" loses points for replacing the original "mummy", Rachel Weiss, for another actress. Although she gets the mannerisms and is extremely good at the accent of Weiss, the chemistry between her and Fraiser isn't always there. It seemed to work better for me if I shut my eyes during her scenes. Even Fraiser's character was different...I think someone else wrote this one because his lines just didn't sound right at parts. When it comes to kicking CGI-mummy bum, Fraiser doesn't let us down...although he really doesn't look much older in this one than in the last, despite the "decade" between the storylines. Grown-up Alex was fun to watch and I loved Lin and her mom, who showed the big bad mummy-emperor who was really boss. And Jet Li was AWESOME as the evil emperor...you really had to hate this guy for being so good at being evil. Sadly, the movie ends with a possible sequel that I think would have the same pitfalls as this movie if the writing isn't fixed and the actresses re-swapped. Instead of a plotline in Peru, I'd rather see the stories that the movie alluded to during WWII when the O'Connells were spies...now THAT would be interesting! Overall, I'm glad I rented it because it was ok, but I'm also glad I didn't spend big bucks to own it because it isn't worth it.
Well, I suppose I should head to bed. I need to get some work done around this apartment tomorrow...like finally finishing off all of the laundry I've had waiting for me, putting away the Christmas decorations, and organizing and putting away all of the paperwork that is currently shoved in my little organizer haphazardly. And of course, spend a little time with Lily because she's been so good lately.

I enjoy Wii Yoga!
What does an HHR look like?? Well, Charlie the car is an HHR, and this is what he looks like!! (He hasn't been this clean since the beginning of winter :)
Good morning!
It is the first day of classes - I've only got a couple more things to do before I head out in search of my class. I'm nervous but excited, it is going to be fun!
Last night I finally had time to try out the new WiiFit I got for Christmas. I find that I really like the Yoga program and hope to be able to work on it in the mornings. Guess I'll have to go to bed earlier and get up earlier to ensure that I always have time to do it before work and/or class! The plastic board measures all of me and tries to figure out the best way for me to work out. It is also working on my balance and center of balance so I have better posture, stronger muscles, and hopefully less back pain. It is actually kinda fun, with the games and encouraging "trainers" trying to keep me going. I look forward to "earning" more games tonight!
Well, lots to do, it is Monday after all!!
Hugs, Christi and Lily (who is sleeping after waking me up at 5AM)

Linda and me at the State Fair...good times :)
