"Oh...yeah...I'm totally writing that paper right NOW"

Hahahaha....seriously, the research isn't going that well so I thought I'd take a quick break to say "howdy" (howdy, by the way) and to tell you what happened last week during Thanksgiving and "How to make a Christi".

First of all, Thanksgiving was a really interesting few days. We were all picked up on Wednesday night after Matt got off of work and I cleaned (like, hard core) the dorm room. Thursday we spent watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade 1 1/2 times (still didn't get to see Santa though...bummers), a bit of football (who gave Matt the remote anyway?) and cooked all the fixin's. Carmen wasn't well with a bit of a cold made worse by pet allergies. I wasn't so good myself, sleep-deprived and sometimes grumpy. Still, a great way to relax the day away.

Friday morning Matt, Mom, and I went to Wal-Mart in Dodgeville at about 5:30AM. Not busy at all. We decided that Mom's 16 year old TV was pretty much shot (it flickers often when it works) so Matt and I splurged for her Christmas gift and got a great, cheaper 20'' flat screen TV. Matt and I had planned to go to Madison where he and Carmen would stay for the rest of the weekend but when we got the "brilliant" notion that the new TV just wasn't big enough (in all reality, it was smaller than Mom's 19''), we hurried out to Wally's again for the next size up - the next cheapest was 32''! It took up the whole back seat so we had to get a little creative on seating Matt, Carmen, and I on the way back....yeah. At least I had some space because I was driving. Anyway, we got home and hooked up the newest TV and only then figured out that the new TV wouldn't fit on the old entertainment center! Bummers. We ended up not going to Madison until Mom got off because we went around and around on how to fix the living room to fit the new TV (a new concept....change the entire house b/c of one TV - go figure!). We dropped Carmen off, got Matt's paycheck, gave some old clothes to Goodwill and went back to Dodgeville to figure out how to solve our problem. Matt went out with Joe to see a movie later that night, making it home just after 1AM (yep, we ALL heard him come in).

Saturday we decided to tackle the TV dilemma. It was decided to change the futon with the sofa and move the bookcase and entertainment center into the office, pulling out smaller bookshelves and a big ol' storage unit to set the TV on. This took most of the day since we also had to move boxes of stuff Matt and I had brought home around the house as well. I figure I'll go back this weekend and Matt the next in order to get everything set for Aunt Sharon's visit (and to find some of the stuff we accidentally buried due to the boxes, like Christmas presents...oops).

Sunday morning we spent decorating Mom's office....it's very blue and silver snowflakey now. After that was a shortened Madison run so I could get my work done. Which now I have to do because it's due tomorrow (the paper I thought was due Thursday was due Today...ooops). It'll be an all-nighter for sure because I just can't seem to find the sources that I want andI know exist. I'll probably end up visiting the library after guitar tonight - my last one for the year :( P.S. Mom, speaking of guitar, could you please e-mail me the "guitar Christmas Music" document in my folder "Christi's Work" on the desktop. Please and thank you!

Well, time to get going on this paper. Alas, it won't write itself no matter how much I try to convince it to! Lots of love, Christi and Ollie
