I’ve been scolded for I’ve been remiss on writing lately. Sorry. This past week has been a blast. Almost 40 hours of work, two finals, 2 interviews, and an unexpected Dentist appointment (4 hour drive and $100 bill only to find out the problem ISN’T dental!) plus moving have kept me really busy.
The short run down:
--Finished my classes, got an A in German, other grades unknown
--Got an internship with Rep Brett Davis (R) .... never thought I’d be working for a Republican! I’m told he’s kinda liberal and he’s the committee chair for Education in the Wisconsin Assembly and an advocate for more school funding (yay!!!!). I was interviewed by him and his two aides, which was the first time a congressperson actually sat around with me for any of my interviews. He’s from Green Co. and seems pretty nice and down-to-earth. I might even get to try my hand with drafting legislation :)
--Quit Copps, changed my summer and life. I decided to take a summer school course (suggestion of Matt’s) and since then nothing’s been the same since. I've spent most of my travel times too and fro making phone calls and appointments and such. Still so much to do too! I miss my Coppers peoples (and the weekly paycheck) but I'm a lot happier and (after finals) healthier too.
--RHC Graduation surprise - Yesterday it was the last day for two girls in RHC and me b/c of graduation so the RHC people got together and baked us a cake, signed lovely cards (will photograph later), some cash, and some "bling" in the form of pink earrings from Steve (an inside joke). I so very much wanted to cry. It was really lovely.
--Move-Out - happening as we speak. Ollie's got to be put into his little cup and I'm avoiding it b/c he really doesn't like it. I've figured out, after my many all-nighters, that you know when your light has been on too much (and therefore you up too late) when the fish tank starts growing algae. Even thought it is in a darker corner. Yeah, that's bad. Anyway, will keep going on packing soon.
--Mother’s Day and the car broke down - I assist at Edible Arrangements (www.ediblearrangements.com) for big holidays (Valentine's Day, Mother's Day) for fun and free fruit. Really really nice owners, fun crew, and strawberries..ooooh, the strawberries (have just realized that I left rhubarb in the RHC cooler, ooooops). Anyway ....Mom's bugging me, more later....
Well, I’m sure there’s more and I’ll rack my brain to figure it out so I can tell you. Life and family are well and that’s really all I could ask for right now. Everything seems to be falling in place.
