Tomorrow's the last day of summer

school starts on Friday. I've only one class, a poli sci lecture. It'll be fun. I've just found out that I won't need to buy books for one of my classes as it will all be online. Yay...I get to print lots, so I'll need to buy some new cartridges and ask for paper for Christmas again (hint hint). Otherwise I haven't bought all of my books since I'm trying to borrow for my women's studies classes (the most expensive books for this semester and there'll be new editions next semester so no buy back options) and one course still hasn't released the reading list...grrrr.....I could borrow some of those too if I knew what they were. I guess I'll work on that tomorrow, which is my day off!!!

Molly moved in the rest of her stuff today. We've now organized the living room so it looks really nice. The TV and other gaming equipment are stored in a lovely tall black entertainment center and we got a floor rug that brings in some lighter colors. We are still anticipating another couch and a table for the other half of the living room. At least we no longer look like we are living from boxes...yay!

I got to work the Wisconsin Welcome tailgate today for housing residents. We set up outside of Camp Randall and for $4.75 residents can get either a brat or grilled cheese sub, chips, an apple, two chocolate chip cookies (yummy and still soft!) and a coupon for another cookie at any of the dining locations. The tailgate was fun. We fed almost 2500 people. No one was harmed, no one was fired, and the brats were really good. Clean up was easy. We got done over an hour early although I stayed a little behind just to straighten up. For some reason my room can be messy and my desk a disaster, but work must be fairly uncluttered and cleaned often. Go figure. I guess a lot more people go to the catering area than to my room, so who cares what my room looks like? Not Taffy nor Preston, the two who have to see it the most.

Tonight I went shopping with Michelle on State St. so she could find a poster. Instead of the poster for her, she got one of her textbooks, bringing her textbook cost total to over $400. I bought two posters, one is a $2 blah one of Madison that I may cut apart for the pictures and the other is the starry night cafe scene (the third one I needed for my collection) that I found for super cheap. I also bought a shirt I've been looking at for months, a true impluse buy that I'm absolutely not having shoppers remorse over. I totally want to get some sheets for the couches and some kind of shelves/hutch for the table that I'll be using as a desk so I can go upwards and clear some more space on the desk itself.

oooh ooh! I forgot to tell you that I sold one of my season tickets for $375 on eBay-- this is totally awesome since I won't be able to go to all of the games and I'm going to use the profit for my study abroad trip to where ever it is that I'm going to. I'll probably find out sometime next week or early week after.

Busy Busy...where did the summer go?

I worked most of last week and this week too. Preston the puppy has made his home in Madison. He's currently 10 weeks old, and a complete handful for Taffy. Lots of visitors over to see him. Lots of energy and biting because he's still teething. He's also a joy to come home to because he's always glad to see you.

Mom's going to hang up her phone on me 'cause I'm not paying attention to her....ooops. Got to talk to Dizzy. Wish I could get those kisses through the phone. Soon, so very soon, I'll get have a three-day weekend, the first time since July 4th. I'm going home for a few days, finding some of my stuff, spending time with the family, meeting Jarren, looking at Grandpa's new car, and giving big hugs to Buddy and Daisy. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!

Other than that, not much happening. Heidi'll be back Tuesday or Wednesday, Molly's moving in tomorrow, and I've got to get some more stuff done before that. Most of the stuff I have to get done is spoil Preston! hehehehehehe
