A Printer!

I finally broke down and hooked up my new printer. It stinks to not be able to print off notes and readings for classes. The old printer isn't compatible with the new computer, so the old printer will be sold to someone who can love and use it as we have for many years. It's nice not to have a printer that shakes the whole table and can wake someone up in the next room. Now I've got to work on getting a desk that can fit all of this stuff!

Well, must go buy books before class!
Lots of love, Christi and Oscar (very patiently waiting for breakfast)

A NEW COMPUTER!!

Hehehehehe...I'm currently writing this on MY computer! It's an $800 Toshiba I bought yesterday. The only bad thing is I can't transfer any of my programs over yet. I think I'll go back to Best Buy for that (since the old computer would need some help transfering). Mom will be getting the old one for personal use. Means I've got to clear some stuff off of it first, like rap music and all my old school stuff. But it's nice to be back online, able to watch movies, and generally have a computer that won't crash. Buying the new computer meant also buying a new printer since the old one is no longer compatible. I'll have to sell it :( It's been such a good printer for both Mom and me. The new printer has a flat bed scanner. I wouldn't have bought it without Matt's coupons, and I used the Best Buy gift card they give you for the printer on my computer.

I had my second class of the semester this morning. The book was cheap (and supposedly interesting) and the professor crazy but excited about his subject so I think I might make it through two power lectures a week. My next class doesn't start until 4PM so I'm at home taking care of Preston and my mile-long to do list.

Sunday I spent at Gary and Sue's rocking baby Jarren to sleep and playing house soccer while seated with Tom and Matt with this huge inflated fabric ball. It was fun, and Gary makes a great pie! I got to spend some time with Buddy and Daisy. It is so nice to have a dog that can sit on command, doesn't bite/nip, and knows when she needs to go outside. Guess we'll keep working on that with Preston, We are going to puppy classes starting Sept 13! Wish I could've stayed home longer, but I had to get back to work at class. Oh well, life goes on.

But hey, at least my computer works!

Lots of love, Christi, Oscar (no longer the only fish in the house as Heidi has adopted Bubbles, Blossom, Buttercup, and Waldo the blue betta), and Preston (asleep on the kitchen floor)

A new computer for a new school year?

I've finally found a vase (I think) that can hold these!

I also think that I've found the computer for me. It's only missing a DVD-RW drive (saving me at least $200) and a parallel port (must get new printer, which I've wanted anyway). It's about $800 at Wal-Mart. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.gsp?product_id=4003277 I'm just trying to figure out how to finance it. Unfortunantly everything financial seems to be shut down. I can't get into my bank account and can't find out the totals on my credit card. Grrr...stupid holiday.

And yet, I'm happy it's a holiday weekend. I'm currently at home, unable to sleep, and surrounded by pet hair (non-black). YAY!! I went upstairs last night to look for some stuff and found my records for the kitchen, a good gladiolus vase, another Brita pitcher (probably to be taken over for non-water purposes), my graduation gown (burn mark still visible), and a box of books which includes my copy of Pride and Prejudice which I reread every year.

Summer does not officially end until I watch Tiny Toons "How I Spent my Summer Vacation". Must find before I have to head back to Madison.

NO WORK FOR 4 DAYS! Despite having to get back to classes and homework, I'm very happy with this upcoming week.

Must go, finally getting sleepy. Lots of love, Christi
