Yesterday I worked at Liz from 6AM - 3:15 PM with only a half an hour for a break. It was a long, hot shift and near the end I admit I got cranky. We were still out of there early, so I had a little bit of time to read before I headed to Carsons for my 5:15-8PM shift, where "super flirtatous boy" called me "baby" (he flirts with EVERY female housing worker under the age of 30). This made for a tired Christi, but I really wanted to keep going last night, so when I got back to Merit I did laundry and relaxed until 10PM.
This morning I got up at 6AM and Moogie and I went to State St. and Maxwell Street days. Among other things, I bought Christmas cards, Christmas presents, and a $2 tee-shirt for myself. We made it to the Farmer's Market where I picked up a couple of sunflowers, some tomatoes, and a bag of fresh lettuce. Moogie and I headed back to State Street and over to Merit where we picked up Matt. We spent the afternoon together, eating $.84 burgers at Culvers, a short stop at Wal-Mart, and getting groceries. I left Woodman's with two bags totaling $20. Matt left with a cart full for only a few times more....I think he got the better deal! I came back to Merit, completely exhausted. While I took a nap, Moogie and Matt went to another store and picked me up some wax paper (for my chocolate dipped strawberries!). I didn't sleep long, since my roommate came back early. Now I'm going to spend the rest of my day off making a rice dinner (which I probably won't eat), maybe clean a little bit, and do my homework. And sleep. Lots and lots of sleep.
I hope to see Sharon, George, and Daniel next Saturday (who knows, maybe Friday night too). Other than that, my life's school, midterm, and work until next Friday, when I finally get to go home!

Makos promotes summer lunch program for state agency
Austin's Makos Advertising & Design donated its services to design an advertising campaign for the Texas Department of Human Services to promote a summer lunch program targeting children statewide.
Makos and the Department of Human Services collaborated on six bilingual TV spots and four bilingual radio spots for a statewide advertising campaign, which launches this week and continues through June, according to a Makos news release.
The summertime free lunch program is available to boys and girls ages 6 months to 18 years. In Texas, providers include parks and recreation departments, schools, churches and Boys' and Girls' Clubs.
Austin-based Inferno Films shot and edited the spots.
Makos provides advertising and marketing for consumer, retail, business-to-business and high tech clients.

Too Early for Words
It really is 4:55 AM on Wednesday, July 14. And I'm really awake. Well, not REALLY, but close. I've got a 6-10AM shift this morning and then class. Should be a lot of fun......yeah. Class is going horribly wrong, due in part to the fact that I work until 10AM instead of the usual 9:30AM, the latter allows me to go to my TA's office hours. And my tutor was out of town this week. That's going to come bite me in the bum sooner than I wanted. Soon I will be done with this class .... only about 3.5 weeks left. And that's how long I've got this roommate too ..... she was talking about me on the phone last night while I was desperately trying to sleep. For some strange reason she believes that everyone can fall asleep while others are LOUDLY talking on the phone and have the TV on.......hmmmmmm.
Aunt Sharon arrives here in the States tonight. She will be here at 8:42 PM and I think Uncle Gary's picking her up. I would love to be there when she arrives but it sounds like Moogie won't be coming to Madison because she's got a lot of stuff to do in Dodgeville. She's almost done with her year long probabtion (Aug 10), and she's worried about messing up in the meantime.....even though I know she's got nothing to worry about :-D
Well, I suppose I best be going. I'm going to drink some Diet Coke before I go to get a little (artifical) pep in my step. Hope everyone is having a great time sleeping in!

Alissa was Here
Alissa came to visit this weekend. She arrived in Madison around 4:30PM yesterday. We headed to State St. where she bought 2 cowboy hats from the hat shop. We had really good subs and fries from Charley's before heading back to my room where we watched "Legally Blonde 2" and played on the computer. Unfortunantly my computer's still stupid, so the changes she made to it are still in place (so she can read it). Does make it a lot easier to read everything though! We went to Memorial Union in our PJs for some ice cream and sat by the lake, listening to the music for awhile. The lake was so calm, you could almost fall into it without noticing.
This morning we got out early to go to East Towne Mall for a present for Sadie. It took us a bit, but we were able to find a present for "the girl who has everything". A Bucky tee-shirt and pencils. Then we hit Claire's (I bought some pins and some hair stuff for work, 'cause it has to fit with the hat) ... I couldn't resist, and then had Sbarro's for lunch. We were back to Merit with time to spare (we were supposed to be there by 1PM since that's when Lance was supposed to pick her up), but Alissa didn't get picked up until 2:30PM, because Dodgeville's Farmer's Appreciation Parade (which he was in) didn't finish until 1PM. Alissa met her parents in Dodgeville for the long ride back to Viroqua. I wonder if Alissa made it to Sadie's Birthday Party in time.... I tried to finish homework, but gave up and went to work instead. Now I'm back at Merit, about to start that homework again (it's very frustrating, and I haven't the time to see the prof in the morning because of work) and procrastinating. I should probably get going, because I've got to be at work at 6:45AM. I had a great time visiting with Alissa (especially at the Union, where people kept staring at us and our PJs and Alissa "wanted some Lumberjack - ice cream, that is), and wish that more people could come to visit me here ... 'cause it gets me out of work!! Hehehehehehe....I work too much.
