Yay for layers!

I went out to the waaaay East Side, taking the hour-long bus trip with ease. Unfortunantly, the interview lasted less than 10 minutes, so knowing that I had to wait 30 minutes for the next bus, I tried to call a cab. No luck...did they block my number?? Anyway, thought I'd be playing it cool by calling the cabbies while walking out the door and ended up walking through snowbanks for the next 30 minutes trying to get to a bus stop that was cleared. I danced to keep warm. Luckily I had on my waterproof snowboots, two pairs of pants, two shirts and a cardigan, and my regular winter outerwear on so I wasn't too cold. The bus came earlier than expected, so I got to talk to the bus driver for a few minutes during his break. He says that he has a degree in secondary education but acutally makes more money driving the bus than he could as a teacher! He thinks when he retires he'll either go back for a Masters or teach. More power to him! I rode around again for an hour and then got back home long enough to wish for a nap and eat some lunch before heading off again for class.

Hmmmm...a nap sounds pretty good right now. I think I'll take one instead of just daydreaming about it!! Hugs and lots of love, Christi and Ollie

SNOW!!

Well, our first big snowstorm happened this weekend. It shut down buses, businesses, churches, and killed my interview. I couldn't get a bus, I couldn't get a human being on the phone at the cab companies. Luckily I could get another interview, set for Wednesday morning. Mom stayed home due to the 40MPH winds and blowing snow. Can't say that I blame her. At least I know I'm not going to starve...I have been stockpiling food ever since the last time she couldn't come to town.

I must keep this short - I have an interview today waaaaaaay out on the East Side (9.9 miles out to be exact) so I've got to hop on a bus for an hour long ride 1-way in order to find out if they really really want me or not. I'm getting apathetic when it comes to the job market...I am starting not to care if I get the job or not. And I'm losing faith in people who can't see a good thing when it is standing right in front of them, practically begging for employment. Sigh....so many stupid people out there....
