Keeping Busy

I got a well-deserved break this past weekend when I went home. Mom picked me up on Friday at 2PM. We headed straight home so we could meet up with Grandpa for the St. Joe's Friday Night Fish Fry. Really good food -- I actually liked the fish better than the chicken and I don't like fish!

Saturday Mom and I walked downtown. Lots of antique stores, but nothing for the 50s diner theme that Taffy and I were discussing for the kitchen in the house next fall. One store sold basically chaps.... hmmmm..... We took a couple of car rides with Daisy too - one to look at some houses, one to pick up dinner at A&W. Lots of people going to prom after dinner. I had slept so much - slept in that morning, fallen asleep before dinner, and then went to bed on time Sat. night. How sad.

Sunday we came back to Madison. Mom met Taffy, one of my future roommates. Mom, Taffy, Carmen, and I went to lunch at Pizzaria Unos where the super nice and kinda cute waiter spilt a glass of root beer on me. Ooops. Everyone got individual pizzas and shared. Those little pizzas are kinda big because no one ate all of one and no one had room for dessert either. Since we were out on the little terrace, we got to feed the local duck named "Mrs. Quackers" by those who work there. Then we were off to Shopko for some stuff and then to Woodmans where Mom walked out with the most amount of bags -- the first time ever!!

Well, now the weekend is over and I must get back to the week. Lots of reading to do and a paper to start and some work --- not as much as everyone else because I asked off for this weekend too. It will make for a cruddy paycheck to have so much time off, but hey, I think it's time well spent. Yep, just me, Buddy, and Daisy falling asleep on the living room couch while watching cartoons. Who could ask for more?

Christi and Oscar (who did just fine without me, but I think he's happy to have someone around, if only to feed him and turn on the lights :) )
