I will survive work and moving

-- and hopefully have a good time too. Today is the start of my crazy week. First, I shall go to work for a few hours, to babysit a beverage break for the ever-loved bankers (semi-sarcastic). Then I'll go back to the apartment to see if anything else can be packed, like my comptuer :( Then I'll go to Jenny's farewell bash. Jenny is one of my favorite catering peoples and she'll be "studying abroad" in New York City for her senior year. She's a School of Human Ecology major, studying about fashion, so she needs to be somewhere where they are fashionable, I guess. Her roommates are throwing her a big party, at which I must be in attendance for at least a few hours. I fully intend on dressing up (aka wearing a nice top, clean jeans, and possibly make-up) in order to show my fellow co-workers that I'm not a complete slob (which they already knew that I am a slob and rarely care about my appearance as long as it is acceptable to the general public).

On Saturday I'm up at 4AM in order to be at work to coffee up the bankers and then prepare for the picnics which lie ahead for the others, who have to be up at 7AM. I have no idea when I'll be getting out of work, but as soon as I do I'll be packing up everything else, moving it all to the living room, cleaning our bedroom (hopefully napping), and then loading the truck sometime after 8PM. We have a large crew coming, so hopefully we can get it packed up quickly.

Sunday morning I'll probably be rolling 400 pieces of silverware, cleaning the living room, out by 12noon, and then have the rest of the day to myself. I'll be homeless, with just my backpack to keep me company until Monday at 3PM.

Monday morning I'm up at 4AM again, to be to work at 5:30AM for the bankers again...oh, to be a banker! We move into the "Barbie DreamHouse" at 3PM. I'll go shopping for groceries sometime that night, as well as clean up the mess that the former tennants (4 messy males) have left behind. Believe me, we saw how they kept the house in the fall. We hold out little hope for cleanliness after they leave. Tuesday I'm again up at that ungodly hour that is 5:30AM for the bankers. I've got a split shift in order to meet the Charter cable installer mid-morning. I swear, if they don't show up I'll blow a gasket. Wednesday I've got an appointment at the neuro doc's so I can get my license back. I wouldn't even bother with it except I've got to have it for work.

I also hope to interview for Lands End again next week. Normally I wouldn't get a second job during the school year, but the summer hasn't worked out the way it was planned. In fact, I think I'm more behind financially than before! Stupid taxes. As Mom constantly reminds me, I've got to be saving money for my trip to .... where ever I end up going. That and I did my monthly expenses.....yikes! I just about cried. Not just the rent, but also the utilities, credit card payments, cell phone payments, etc. And especially the meds...I hate them. Sooooo much. Hopefully the fall will bring more luck financially. Like me winning the lottery.

Until I win the lottery, I guess I'll have to work, clean my rented house, and move my own stuff. If you need me, I'll be offline for a few days, so call the celly. Ack....I've got to pack the cell phone charger, some socks, pants, shirts into that bag before everything else gets moved....a chain reaction of thoughts about moving, just thinking about my cell phone. I need sleep. And a shrink. And a nap. And more cleaning supplies, a working vaccum, internet, money........I'm going to post this now.

Lots of love, Christi and Oscar (I'm going to be without him for two days, what am I going to do without fishy supervision???)

Where we ate lunch today. And Alissa's favorite breakfast place on campus. It's located at Union South, about a two blocks from our apartment. I'm downstairs from it right now. Yummy burgers!

460

The Barbie Dreamhouse -- home sweet home on Aug 15th!

This is (combined with my old page) my 460th post online. My old page was started on Sunday, July 27th. Just thought that was an interesting tidbit.

Otherwise, not much happening around here. Today's my one day off in a while. If I worked today, I would've worked 13 days in a row! Most likely not to be called in today though. I kinda feel bad because there is so much work to be done and I'm unable to help because I'm thisclose to going over 40 hours and I don't wanna get anybody into trouble. No one wants to pay $15/hour for someone to roll silverware though. Guess I'll stick around here and clean as much as I can so I can head in on Sunday morning to roll 400 pieces of silverware (for a picnic later that day).

Today I'll be packing. If anyone has anything else funner to do, PLEASE let me know. I think I'll go crazy otherwise. At least I'll be getting out of this neighborhood. There've been lots of drunk people lately, breaking glass on the street. Unfortunantly for me, one of those (very small) pieces stabbed me in the foot (I was wearing sandals) while I was walking to the bus stop today. Grrrr...stupid drunk people!

Lots of love, Christi and Oscar--he has a place to stay, but I still don't :(

finally busy!

The last few days I've been busy at work, making sure that our group of bankers are well taken care of at the banker conference thingy. This requires me to get up at 4AM 4 days this week to set up coffee in the Witte and Sellery lobbies by 6:15AM. So happy to have something to do.

When not working, I've been helping roommates move. Heather is in her new apartment as of Sunday. Rachelle has moved most of her things to her new place, but still has food and some clothes here. Heidi and I have been filling boxes like crazy. Taffy's been at home with the new puppy, a little boy black lab named Preston. Honestly, one of the best names on the list. Hey, he could've been named Blackjack, Taxi, Sweetie, Frodo (I kinda liked that one), or Grommet (the tool) among others. I really liked Austin, but that's probably because I've watched "A Cinderella Story" starring Hilary Duff too many times (the super cute guy character's name is Austin). Yes Taffy...laugh. I watch Hilary Duff. I should buy tickets to her concert and drag you to it!! Hehehehehehehe.

Went to Dodgeville last Wednesday. Spent too much money, but got the rest of the bathroom stuff for fall. Now have two toilet seat covers, two toilet mats, two non-skid rugs and two sets of hand towels for our two bathrooms, as well as two pairs of jeans, one pair of nice, lined black dress pants that I've got to hem (yay-sarcastic), three jersey pillow covers (don't match, but coordinate well), a red fleece blanket for the living room, and something else. I'll think of it later, when my comptuer's not online. Yay, I'm online!! Hehehehe....think I'll get up and do the happy dance...............................

Whew! I'm finished.

Matt moved from Merit House to short course dorms down by lakeshore on Friday night. We got to go to dinner with cousin Joe and Thomas at Pizza Hut before heading back to Matt's not-packed dorm room.

Mom finished her Franklin courses on Saturday! Shes says she'll be catching up on her movie-watching and sleep in all the free time she now has because she isn't doing homework. Hope to hear about her grades soon. So far, she's right on track for her bachelors!!

I still haven't seen ...... hmm...what was it? I know I haven't seen "The Dukes of Hazzard", which is probably a good thing since there's no plot or anything. But that's not what I was thinking of. OH YEAH! I still haven't seen little Jarren yet, since Kathy was released from the hospital before Linda, Jessie, Kelsey, and I made it down to Darlington on Wednesday morning. At least we have pictures, thanks to Gary. Mom says he's adorable. She got to see him while in town on Grandpa's birthday. She took Grandpa and Gloria out to lunch. Mom got the ladies at Riverwood to sing "Happy Birthday" to Grandpa while he blew out a candle on his piece of cake. Sure beats my phone call, but at least my phone call was the first of the birthday wishes!

I have seen Dannyboy from Viroqua. He was in town today, chilling on State St. while one of his friends had some camp counselor training for a leadership camp. He came to work to find me, and was directed to my brother. Unfortunantly neither of them could find me because I was out on delieveries. I did get to go to Charley's for lunch with Dan and we had a good ol' time. It was soooooo good to see him. He is looking forward to college, with new classes, new challenges, new friends, and a roommate. I hope he doesn't have the luck that Erin had with her roommates! Now I must repay the visit with one to Carthage. Anyone going near there anytime soon?????

Well, Oscar's been patiently waiting for me to change his water (like, the 30 mins it took for me to post this!). The hot weather's hurting his tail, and now I'm worried he may have fin rot again. I had hoped to put off the bowl cleaning until Friday, but it must be done. I'll be less worried when the weather cools down a bit. Still must find a place for us to sleep overnight on Sunday night. Holy moley---THIS Sunday. I'm moving THIS SUNDAY!!!! ACK! Must clean, must pack, must pray for good weather, must party on Friday night since it is Jenny's farewell bash and I've got a truck to load Saturday night when the others want to go out :(

Lots of love, Christi and Oscar (still waiting for me!)
