Yay again!

Lots of good stuff happening here - the event went well (since it was supposed to be a cash bar but we didn't bring any money, free drinks on us!), the clean-up was fast, the Badgers really did "roast" the Gophers, 48-12, the nap after work was long and restful, and Mira says the date's next fall (Sept.-ish). I'm already super-excited to go. If it is near the begining of Sept. I'll only miss a couple of days of school, should I get to go to grad school. I've gotten a packet from Marquette....I have no heart to tell them I NEED money, not spend it at their school.......I will probably get some more things from other schools b/c I signed up a little bit of everywhere at the grad school fair last week (me personally, I'd like to go to Univ of Flordia and be a Gator for two years...they give lots and lots of money I guess). Other than that, I've got a lot of work to finish if I'm going to get my reward by Monday. Lots of love, Christi and Ollie

Hooray for Mira and Matthias!!!

My friend Mira from Germany (whose family I visited this spring) and her boyfriend of 4 years Matthias are ENGAGED!!!!!!! I'm so incredibly happy for them - they just fit like a key in a lock. Their families get along extremely well and I'm just soooo happy. I am currently taking donations to help fund my trip to go to the wedding (date TBA)....she showed me the little castle near her house (it is across a cornfield) where she said she wanted to get married and now SHE'S GOING TO!!!!!! Yay!!

Well, I have to work in the morning (5AM with the bosses......bring it on!) so I'll hopefully write more later. Until then, I hope you've enjoyed my good news!
Lots of love, Christi and Ollie

I know I know

I know that I should be writing on here more often, but life's just been so busy! A couple of weeks there I was reading about 1,000 pages/week and doing 40 hours at work...free time just wasn't happening. This week's homecoming...which is a rather fun time while the leaves are falling and the weather was perfect for a charity 3K walk that I just finished. I won't do the Blook Drive, but I want to go to a couple of other events that I can squeeze in between class and work. And yay for the big game on Saturday (currently around $100+ for a student ticket...guess I won't be going).

For a couple of those weeks I was helping out in RHC doing food-prep stuff since they were and still are short-handed. However, this interfered with catering stuff so now I've basically been banned from non-catering RHC work. I'm kinda grateful for it in a way - I actually get to sleep in until 7AM mornings these last couple weeks and that will include this week...well, besides Saturday, but I guess no one can have everything. Woo hoo for a little extra sleep! And Saturday will be fun, especially since I learned that I will NOT be working for the opposing team's tailgate so I will NOT need Bucky Badger to come save me from that goofy Gopher mascot after I make lots of Minnesota jokes...yah.

My roommate's gotten me addicted to "Charmed"...I'm acutally ahead of her now and am pretty far in the 4th season (averaging about a season a week).... I soooo wanna be a witch with a magical power and a cute guardian angel to watch over me.....damn he's cute! Until that happens, I guess I've got Ollie the fishy to watch over me and try to keep me out of trouble.

Well, I've got a test tomorrow and a hundred pages to read. Love ya all and hope you have a great few days!! ON WISCONSIN! Christi and Ollie
