Just for you Mom

Mom has constantly been reminding me that I've been neglecting my blog so I shall remedy this situation right now. Mostly it's been work and classes - I've got three papers due in a short period of time so in my non-busy moments I've been trying to read up. I've also been preparing the rest of my life too - so far I've gotten through.....well, um.....there are lots of different plans right now. Of the several options I've got the following:

1) graduate in May, get job/internship, grad school in fall
2)graduate in May, get job/internship for summer and fall so I'm able to focus on GRE and studying and also my Europe/Germany trip, grad school in following spring
3) get a Global Cultures certificate - this will require me to take a language class in the summer, so even though I would get to walk across the stage in May I wouldn't technically graduated until August. I can take this language class either here in Madison (if offered), another UW school (if offered) or abroad (if I find the right program)....then continue to either option 1 or 2
4) follow no plans and see what happens
The GC certificate will be a major deciding factor, as well as internship applications. If I could get the language course here on campus I might be able to continue working in catering (big if though) but nothing's set in stone.

Yep. I took that GRE practice test and have yet found the time/energy to go pick up the results...too bad they are only open from 12-6PM. I think I'm also avoiding finding out how terrible I actually did.....I fear I may be one of the stupidest people on campus...I already know I'm the craziest anyway.

At work - my friend Zondra had surgery last Monday so we are short-handed even more so than usual. I went to visit her Tuesday morning and she was pretty alert but in a lot of pain and very tired. She said the room kept spinning. I made her a teddy bear at "Build-A-Bear" in the mall and I made a little scarf for it so it'd stay warm. I'm so happy she loved it.

I voted Tuesday, Nov. 7th! Yay! All of my candidates did well - yay! All of my referedums failed - I'm truly amazed and yet not. For being a fairly progressive state, there are still a lot of conservatives...although the way the marriage amendment read, if people hadn't heard all of the debate they wouldn't have understood the impact of such wording.

Finally - I've been awaiting the new Josh Groban cd and I have not been disappointed! Mom, I know work's been a pain (to say the least) and the instructors are crazy-unfair and at the end of the day it would be great to just give up and move to New Zealand. I'm so proud of you for sticking with it through thick and thin - we love you so much! These lyrics are for you Mom!
Hugs and lots of love, Christi and Ollie

You Are Loved (Don't Give Up)

Don't give up
It's just the weight of the world
When your heart's heavy I
I will lift it for you

Don't give up
Because you want to be heard
If silence keeps you I
I will break it for you

Everybody wants to be understood
Well I can hear you

Everybody wants to be loved
Don't give up

Because you are loved

Don't give up
It's just the hurt that you hide
When you're lost inside I
I'll be there to find you

Don't give up
Because you want to burn bright
If darkness blinds you I
I will shine to guide you

Everybody wants to be understood
Well I can hear you

Everybody needs to be loved
Don't give up

Because...you are loved

Don't give up
It's just the weight of the world

Don't give up
Everyone needs to be loved

You are loved
